This was the summer that we installed a solar electric system at our cabin on Johns Island.

Here is the frame for the solar panels before installation. You can see one of the panels being tried out in the background.

I set the mounting pole for the panels in a hole with concrete. Note the very vertical plumb bob.

A fair amount of time was spent running wires underneath the deck and cabin.

Here's the net result. A 12 volt floor lamp that actually works!

It wasn't all work though. Here Raina and Robin model good "Relax and Read" behavior.
